How to read this route
There’s no map, the island loops back on itself, and you can only save at Crystal Monuments (beginner tips). The order below comes from two independent sources — the chapter lists of Indie James’s full walkthrough and Gamer Guides’ route video — which agree on steps 1–15. The area percentages are Steam’s: the share of all players who had reached each place by Nov 2, three days after launch.
The opening (the demo ended here)
| # | Step | Video |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Wash up on the beach; grab the Dagger Belt at the wreck — your first throwing weapon | GG 0:40 |
| 2 | In the Crypt, take the descending branch for the Endu Shrine Key (the other branch has a Club) | IJ 14:16 · GG 0:55 |
| 3 | Beat the Shrine Guardian and take the Holy Sword Endu — 72.3% of players have it | IJ 28:44 · GG 1:21 |
From here Endu lets you fly across gaps — see Holy Sword Endu.
Wind Gems and the water
| # | Step | Video |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | Visit the merchant and explore; pick up the Azure Torch | IJ 34:26 · GG 2:00 |
| 5 | Second Wind Gem, and start lighting the beacons (Gamer Guides calls them Gargoyle Statues ⚠️) | IJ 58:58 · GG 2:18 |
| 6 | In the water area, collect the four Triangular Slates | IJ 1:37:37 · GG 2:52 |
| 7 | Enter Obmuer Temple (54.5% reached it) | GG 3:43 |
| 8 | Third Wind Gem | IJ 2:08:06 · GG 4:07 |
| 9 | Beat three mini-bosses to open the way; Trident key | IJ 2:23:56 · GG 4:19 |
| 10 | Dagoom the Sea King (34.8% have beaten him), then meet Erma, Matron of the Deep; third beacon | IJ 2:47:25 · GG 4:58 |
Can’t find the 4th slate? Players shared a hand-drawn map of the water area in this Steam thread.
Tower of Knowledge
| # | Step | Video |
|---|---|---|
| 11 | Tower of Knowledge (30.4%) — beat the Skeletal Executioner, then the statue puzzle | IJ 3:13:26 · GG 5:38 |
| 12 | Talk to Knowledge Keeper Wourha and Budae the Knight; get the Forbidden Archives Key ⚠️ | IJ 3:49 |
| 13 | Take the Storm Gem, beat The Necronomicon and clear the flesh growths | GG 6:33 · IJ 4:33:35 |
| 14 | A hidden wall at the bottom of the tower leads to the other side of the basement, then deeper down and the graveyard on top | IJ 4:50–5:25 |

After the Tower
| # | Area | Players who reached it (Nov 2) |
|---|---|---|
| 15 | Deimpo Mausoleum — the next step after the Tower, per players and the route video | 17.1% |
| 16 | Forgotten Dungeon | 12.5% |
| 17 | Rotting Cavern — connects to the Verdant Hollow ⚠️ | 8.8% |
| 18 | Ancient World — a hub with doors keyed to coloured pass cards ⚠️ | 6.5% |
| 19 | Petrified Garden | 3.0% |
| 20 | Record of Sin | 2.8% |
| 21 | Siraatsu Castle | 1.8% |
The route past Deimpo comes mostly from single Steam threads ⚠️; we’ll firm it up as more players get there. Verdant Hollow is an odd one: 47.8% have reached it, far more than Deimpo, so many players find it early by exploring.
Leaving the Rotting Cavern (one player’s route ⚠️): from the save point, jump the gap in the corridor, open the hidden wall, run past the robots into the forest, then drop down and look for the teleporter.
The well
There’s a well in the starting area. Players warn: don’t jump in early — it drops you into a hard Underworld. It isn’t a dead end; players got out through a teleporter (one says cross the bridge to the right of the save point), but two threads describe the way out differently ⚠️.
